Our Philosophy
We believe that every individual and family deservers fulfilling and healthy relationships. We strive to help our clients achieve this by providing a safe and supportive environment where they can explore their emotions, build trusts, and increase their quality of life.
Our therapists and counselors are highly trained and experienced in marriage and family therapy. They are passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families improve their relationships and are committed to ongoing professional development. We offer a diverse staffing team to ensure that clients find the best fit for their unique needs and preferences. Our licensed professionals oversee the entire staff to ensure all services provided support ongoing efforts of the plan established for each individual client.
Janet Ake is an Oklahoma native who earned her degree at OBU in 2017. She is trained in Marriage and Family therapy and incorporates a systemic approach. She enjoys meeting new clients who struggle with the challenges of everyday life. Janet has experience working with children, individuals, couples, and families. Janet is ready to help with a wide range of issues, including depression, anger, marital problems, adjustment, grief, ADHD and other mental health issues to promote mental health and bring healing to relationships. She helps clients tap into their own strengths to bring about lasting change.
Darla is a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) that sees children, individuals, couples, and families dealing with a wide range of issues, including Reactive Attachment Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, depression, anger, anxiety, marital problems, adjustment issues, grief, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism, and more. Darla uses a variety of systemic theoretical approaches such as Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Structural Therapy, Strategic Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Every client is unique, Darla is intentional about using the correct systemic approach for each individual with a goal to create as much support for the client as possible.
Kathy Robbins is a Licensed Professional Counselor, graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Psychology, and earned a master’s in education in School Counseling from the University of Central Oklahoma. Kathy has served as a high school counselor with Norman Public Schools for 7-1/2 years and has the experience to help teens with the unique challenges they experience. She utilizes CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Mindfulness techniques to help individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, interpersonal conflicts, and other challenges. Kathy has a passion to help clients grow and experience personal fulfillment, peace, and joy.
Jenn is our administrative personnel and facilitates our group therapies through the guidance of your license mental health therapist. She has education as a certified Mental Health Technician (ODMHSAS), Child Behaviors 1 & 2 (GPHS via Rogue Community College in Grants Pass, Oregon) Intro to Childcare Health & Safety certification (Oregon DHS), Safe Sleep certification (Oregon Department of Early Learning), Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect (Oregon DHS), USDA Child & Infant Nutrition (Oregon DHS), Provider Completion of Orientation Certification part 1 & 2 (Oregon DHS), certification in Coparenting and Divorce (Arkansas DHS 2002 & Paul Moore, PHD 2018), certification in Home Health Aide through Area Agency on Aging, and Cannacian level 3 (ECS Therapy School). She has experience in running and operating a daycare with disabled children and providing aide services to those with disabilities of all ages. Her education and experience have prepared her for the role at Family Uncensored Mental Health Services as your MHT. Working with your therapist to establish your goals, group therapy can be very beneficial to clients who are looking to strengthen relationship and socialization skills.
Our approach to counseling emphasizes the importance of communication, empathy, and mutual respect. We use a variety of evidence-based techniques to help clients develop these skills and resolve conflicts in a healthy and productive manner.
